luscious and smooth with an abundance of berry fruit flavours
Sourced from old, dry grown vines grown in the highest quality vineyards in South Australia’s renowned Barossa Valley, our Pewter Series Shiraz is intensely flavoured. Low cropping levels produce rich Ribena and blackberry fruit aromas and flavours which combine beautifully with strong vanillin and mocha chocolate from aging in American oak. Luscious and smooth with soft tannins this wine will continue to soften with bottle ageing.
Palate
A full bodied wine with soft tannins, intense raspberry and blackberry flavours, pepper and spice. Cassis and earthy overtones complete the wine.
Aroma
Powerful cassis and chocolate aromas with charred overtones. Some pepper, cinnamon and coffee characters from oak ageing present in the background.
Cellaring
This wine is drinking beautifully now and but will benefit over the next 5-10 years.
food pairing
The classic match for a full bodied Barossa Shiraz is a fillet of beef accompanied with a red wine jus but it will also pair well with a hearty lamb stew.
